The premises... circa December 2002
During 2002, the whole concept took shape. The Beaven's offered to help the Wright's set up a new business and both couples spent a considerable time visiting premises. Because of the Teacher/Student relationship Andy Wright thought that this was a brilliant idea and did not hesitate to take them up on their offer.

The deal was that Andy and Marisa would put in the membership of the very successful Soyoukan Club (approximately 100-150 members, which nett approximately £12k per year). The Beaven's were prepared to put in £15k and other experitse (such as Helen's banking and accountancy experience).

After a long time searching, Unit 9 at the White Horse Business Park was found to be suitable. It was an empty shell at the time, so another problem was the location and engagement of a shop fitting company. An old footballing friend of Nicks' came in handy because he was MD of a stationary and shop fitting company that conveniently backed onto the Unit 9.

The shop fitters offered the team an all-inclusive, hassle free quotation of £32k. Having determined that "DIY" would be cheaper, it would also involve self-management and the team just did not have the expertise or time. So, "SF" was engaged with an £8k upfront payment.
